I would like to thank you for your efforts last week regarding the issue that confronted us with regards to running reports from IMS. As discussed with you at length it was imperative that we be able to run daily updates on all our current project and pass these back to our clients, however this was proving to be a time consuming and arduous task cutting and pasting notes from within the
task comments to shorten the details down to just the past 24 hours.
Our findings showed that this was taking over an hour a day to complete which we saw as a considerable overhead at close to 8 hours per week being committed to purely providing updates and reports. This issue was flagged to IMS as a problem that we needed assistance on immediately as failure to comply with these reports would have made it difficult to maintain our contractual agreements. Thanks to the support team at IMS we were more than happy to find that within less than 24hours from the time of our request for assistance we were provided a solution.
By requesting a filter to be added to the custom reports we are now able to run a daily report that only presents the progress made on every task within the past 24 hours. The saving in time to our resources was considerable but negligible compared to what the ramifications would have been if we had not been able to provide the reports that were requested.
