The management team of Select Air Conditioning knew that implementing IMS was going to have a large impact on the way they did business. Wanting to take place as a leader in the heating and cooling industry meant that their business process had to be quick and efficient. Existing time lag between job and generation of invoices resulted in a constant chasing of payment from clients. Building the business to the next level was going to require a solid business management system that ensured a quick and efficient turnaround of invoices and tracking of projects.
Director Shane Loffler believed there must have been a way to streamline their business process from job to invoice. Research on the internet and finally a recommendation from a colleague, directed them to research the IMS product. It was a great fit and promised to do all that was required to get Select Air Conditioning up to date with their job management.
With any major shift in business process, there comes some apprehension. Resourcing the right product for the problem, concerns about staff uptake, compatibility with other applications all need careful consideration. Staff member Darryn Fox, believed the best way to implement IMS for Select Air Conditioning was to trial the product himself before implementing it across the board. Darryn could then become the in-house point of reference to troubleshoot and assist with any questions during the implementation phase.
"The full implementation was surprisingly good" recalls Darryn. He was expecting a range of responses from the quick uptake to the slower more difficult process for staff with little IT experience. Darryn was surprised to see that even those with little or no experience could easily navigate the system and even enjoyed using it!
